June 8-12 – Farm, life and physics!

An ecology, farm life and physics camp! Campers will spend a majority of their time at the FUNie Farm in Culpeper, participating in a variety of activities that include creature collection, exploration, gold panning, and animal science. There will be plenty of hands-on learning activities, as well as opportunities to explore gardening, aquaponics, horsemanship and goat keeping. Each day campers will also learn about and experiment with a new simple machine.  Register!

July 27-31 – Digital Photography

For beginner and intermediate photographers. Camp participants will spend the week learning about photography and honing their skills. Each day will include a learning segment and practice at various field sites. Campers will explore lighting, framing, and other aspects of photography.  Field work and practice will include architecture, nature photography, working with animals and photographing people. Campers will also experience farm life in Virginia and will have the opportunity to interact with various aspects of the farm including gardening, aquaponics, horsemanship, and goat raising.  Register!

Aug 10-14 – Weather Science

This science camp will be filled with exploration of weather related science and activities. By the end of the week, campers will have built their own weather stations and have a working knowledge of using data they collect to accurately predict weather changes. This camp will take place primarily on the FUNie Farm with some weather related field trips such as meeting a local weather personality, touring a TV station to see weather news being made, or touring an airport with a local pilot instructor to learn how weather affects flight. There will also be time to learn about the farm including gardening, aquaponics, and animal husbandry.  Register!
